Our family stands in solidarity with #OromoProtests. Political prisoners in #Ethiopia, including Bekele Gerba, have shaved their heads and called for three days of mourning for the hundreds killed and thousands wounded at the hands of the Ethiopian government. Living in the country that is the largest donor country to the Ethiopian government, a country that has chosen not to speak out strongly against the violence Ethiopian federal forces continuously use against peaceful protesters, wearing black and taking a picture is the least we can do. If you want to show solidarity, if you saw#FeyisaLelisa put up his crossed arms after winning silver in the men’s marathon in the Olympics and were moved, you can take a picture like this…you can also take a video of yourself shaving your head and post it as many others have done.
